Spirit Iris - Audio feedback
I know it might be difficult to make sound for "uncompleted" game, however I thought sound did help me in-game.
-Menu sounds. selecting sounds(key up/down) are not bad, still little bit too strong, could be more bass and less strong impact. Confirm (enter key) could use improvement. In my opinion, having 2 beeps or 2 sounds on selecting something, giving player more confidence, that he/she has selected something. Take for example HL2 or Dystopia click sounds.
-Game, Real World. Need footsteps sounds, you just can't ignore it. It gives impression that you "actually moving". I think I would rather do sound effect for "throwing light" (mouse1), rather than voice acting.
Player voice acting sounds good, but sound of thing that sitting on him, need some different sound effects. I'd rather do next : slight chorus + flanger + delay + little bit echo + dropping high freq. in graphic equalizer. It would give impact, that something from different world talking to you.
Alert sounds is clipping. Try normalization and drop bass. Acknowledge sound is perfect.
-Game, Spirit World. Sound effect of changing between worlds is awesome, fits perfectly, like it. Now, when you do attack in spirit world, it could use "battle" voice from real world (HA! HO!) + current weapon's "shoosh" sound. Monsters could use some biting sound effects, instead of "shoosh" sound, they also need footsteps/moving sound effects, so player can expect them. Also need different environment sound for spirit world (sound scape).
I might post more sound feedback, as I complete game. If you have any questions, do ask.
