I got a bunch of new samples today for Fruity Loops, so you all should hear different drum patterns and different synths in use. I got a whole bunch so I’m going to attempt to stay away from my one or two favorite synths or so.
Anyway here is a current work in progress of what I’ve been making for the past hour or so.

Personally I hate the hits, so I will probably change them

I made this track a few months back, I believe in early July or late June, either way I was thinking about the space shuttle Challenger while playing around with strings in FL Studio and this is what came out.

Its a very simple piece as is much of my original compositions and it sounds very similar to other string pieces made in Hollywood but I still enjoy listening to the piece from time to time.

I made this mini-remix quite some time ago, when I just got my hands of fruity loops back in 2005. Which would place me roughly at 16 or so. I’ve learned a lot about music since then, however I still find it amusing to go back and listen to my older tracks.

The Arrangement starts at a different location than the original track as I found it had too long of a lead in, as such it starts at the melody switch and contains the long intro towards the middle.

The first stage of the Sigma battles in Megaman X2 has all ways struck me as one of the songs that stood out in the game’s soundtrack, it was a simple track that repeats over and over again, much of the sub-elements of the song also repeat constantly. As with all older games this was done mostly to allow for easy looping however pre-rendered tracks do not loop as well due to the streaming nature of modern music players. mp3′s in particular are not loop friendly normally to achieve these loops you need to make a play list of the same song, however often there are slight gaps between the opening track and where music actually plays.
This however did not discurage me and I set out to arrange this track as best I could so that it keeps the loop, with little to no pauses.

I went ahead and created another arrangement from Rolan’s Curse. I’m considering making these posts a more regular thing from now on. Anyway this is a straight up arrangement it is nearly exact to the original, its rather amazing what updated instruments do to older games.

Sometimes I get bored and remix or arrange songs from older games I used to like, this particular song is the title theme from Rolan’s Curse. It’s a very simple track and was pretty fun to play with. I’m not sure if I will go back to this track at any point in time but for now here is the current work in progress version of it.
